NEET or the National Eligibility cum Entrance test is the most popular pre-medical entrance test for aspirants to get into Government and private medical institutions. The NEET was designed by Central Board of Secondary Education and National Testing Agency and is administered by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The academic requirement for NEET is 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects with above 60% average in the three compulsory subjects in 12th Board exams.
The exam has a total of 180 multiple choice questions which are divided into three sections; 45 questions for Physics, 45 questions for Chemistry and 90 questions for Biology (Botany and Zoology). The duration of the test is 3 hours, so the candidate has 180 minutes to answer 180 questions. Keeping this in mind, the testee should not spend more than a minute on one question to ensure that he/she completes the exam.
As the NEET is designed by the CBSE and NTA, the most preferable books for preparation are the CBSE textbooks of Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with various other material available in the market.
To ensure a good score, daily self-study apart from lectures and solving as many questions possible on each topic of all subjects is must.
