The GRE is composed of three measures – Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning

  • The Analytical Writing Section assesses the ability of the candidate to form, articulate and support complex ideas, examine claims by evaluating related facts, engage in a factual and coherent discussion, and use standard English with precision. This section requires the candidate to provide precise responses based on the task presented, so he/she can accurately demonstrate their skills with their responses to the given task.
  • The Verbal reading section measures the ability to analyse and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it. This section requires you to understand the meaning of the written material and get a gist of the material by understanding the relationship between the words and sentences. The verbal section will test your prowess in understanding what you read and how you apply your reasoning skills.
  • The Quantitative Reasoning section measures basic mathematical skills and grasp on elementary mathematical concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data analysis. This section assesses the ability to interpret and analyse and apply quantitative information.
